Jay Leno Brings the Laughs, Shares Motorcycle Collection Details on DRIVE Season 3 Finale

May 14, 2025

From former U.S. President Barack Obama to comedian Chris Farley, the list of notable guests who once sat across the desk from “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno is a long one. Leno finds himself on the other side of the interview table when he joins Ford CEO Jim Farley for the Season 3 finale of DRIVE.

In addition to memories of his favorite late-night interviews and tales from his early days as a stand-up comedian, Leno also touches on oddities such as his penchant for mechanical watches, the quirks of owning English motorcycles, and why pirates historically wore eye patches. And he does it all with the classic Leno humor that made him a television mainstay for decades.

“I (did stand-up) every weekend somewhere, because I know TV jobs only last a certain amount of time,” Leno explains. “Sometimes it’s 13 weeks. I was lucky – it lasted 22 years.”

During the episode, which was recorded last fall, Farley and Leno discuss the new Ford Mustang GTD and the company’s goal of setting a record as the first American automaker to achieve a sub-7-minute lap at the historic Nürburgring track. Since the episode’s recording, the GTD team not only accomplished this feat, but returned to the track and broke their own record last month.
