Ford CEO Jim Farley’s DRIVE podcast boldly goes where it’s never gone before – to the final frontier.
Retired European Space Agency astronaut Tim Peake tells DRIVE fans firsthand stories that few people can – including what it’s like to conduct a spacewalk, the rigors of training for outer space missions, and what's known as “the overview effect” when seeing Earth from orbit.
Peake also shares his thoughts on famous Hollywood scenes set in outer space, highlighting which movies got it right. Take 2013’s Gravity, for example:
“As fun as it was to watch George Clooney flying around on a jet pack, the cinematography there was unbelievable,” Peake said. “And they really nailed that. I mean, that’s what Earth looks like from low Earth orbit. They got that absolutely, brilliantly perfect.”
