Louisville FAAN Chapter Delivers Meals, Good Tidings Ahead of Thanksgiving

Nov 30, 2022

The day before Thanksgiving, the Louisville FAAN chapter, featuring team members from both Kentucky Truck Plant and Louisville Assembly Plant, once again delivered holiday meals and smiles to four area families in need. Each family received two boxes containing the necessary ingredients for a festive feast—turkey, ham, rolls, sides, and more. They were also given a $100 Kroger gift card to purchase other items desired to complete their meals. These deliveries are a cherished Louisville FAAN tradition. “This is our eighth year providing meals. Even though the names and faces change, the sentiment remains the same. We look forward to this activity every year,” stated Chris Peace, HR manager at Louisville Assembly.

The meals are funded by member donations, which reached a record $1,072 this year. “We have a lot of blessings happen within our Ford family, and it’s so nice to spread those around to those who are less fortunate,” said Tony Redd, Body team manager at Kentucky Truck. “This particular event is important to this group because we know the value of giving back to the community where we work and live. We are very fortunate to work for a company that encourages us to give back and impact others in a positive way,” explained Luvenia Davis, a paint quality engineer at Louisville Assembly. Cynthia Goldsberry, regional culture and diversity manager, added, “At Thanksgiving, I am thankful for all that I receive. I am also thankful for what I am able to give.”

Jamal McFarland, president of Louisville FAAN, partnered with Louisville Assembly controller Todd Kraus for a delivery. “We were able to represent FAAN and bring tears of joy and gratitude to a wonderful family in our community. A year ago to the day, they had lost the matriarch who kept the family together for holidays. We were able to help fill that void with the Thanksgiving dinners. This act of kindness from our local FAAN chapter will always be appreciated, and I appreciate the membership and everyone who gave a donation for being able to make this happen.”
