Ford Philippines Turns Passion into Purpose during Global Caring Month

Sep 30, 2026

Ford Philippines marked this year’s Global Caring Month with a series of programs that gathered Ford employees, dealers, and partners as volunteers, turning passion into purpose during Ford’s annual month-long tradition of giving back to the communities.

This year’s activities were conducted in partnership with Gawad Kalinga, American Chamber Foundation and new partner Cartwheel Foundation, and centered around elderly care, community development, education, social welfare, and youth support, allowing volunteers to share their time, talent, and effort to make a lasting and meaningful difference.

The month-long efforts kicked off with the unveiling of the ceremonial marker for the outdoor classroom projects of the six (6) Indigenous Peoples communities in Davao City in partnership with the Philippine Eagle Foundation and Ford Davao. Volunteers assisted in arts and crafts, storytelling, birdwatching, cultural discussions, entrepreneurial coaching, and meet-and-greet sessions.

Ford and dealer volunteers also joined an elderly care program at Tahanan ng Mahal na Ina ng Guadalupe, a dedicated home for elderly women managed by the Missionary Sisters of Evangelization. The facility provides residential nursing care, social work, medical assistance, and spiritual support to homeless, abandoned, and impoverished elderly women, serving as a permanent home for 25 residents. Aside from providing essential supplies including food, vitamins, medicines, and groceries, volunteers from Ford Philippines and Ford Batangas dealership spent quality time with the residents and engaged in various social activities.

The highlight of this year’s Global Caring Month was a bayanihan effort at Gawad Kalinga PNOC Olaes Village in Cavite that brought together over 40 Ford Philippines employees led by Ford Philippines managing director Pedro Simoes. Volunteers repainted houses, schools, livelihood structures, a basketball court, and a multi-purpose hall, as well as prepared Bayong ng Pag-Asa packages with food essentials and vegetables that benefitted over 120 families.

In a move to champion marginalized children, Ford also brought together volunteers to visit the Rev. Fr. Vincenzo Idà Children’s Home in Batangas, an independent, non-government, and non-profit organization that provides care for neglected, orphaned, abandoned, surrendered, and foundling children in CALABARZON. Ford volunteers spent time nurturing and engaging with the children while helping provide essential supplies.

Ford also extended its support for indigenous children through learning, nourishment, and meaningful engagement with its inaugural partnership with Cartwheel Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to nurture Filipino indigenous heritage through culturally relevant education.  As part of this initiative, volunteers helped prepare a hot meal, tutor, and provide psychosocial support for children in Parañaque.

Ford employees also supported a community outreach and volunteer activity at Little Angels Home Inc. (LAHI) and Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth where they helped distribute essential needs, clothing and vitamins to abandoned children with special needs as well as spent meaningful time with them through play, interactive games, and organized activities designed to foster fun and connection.

“Global Caring Month is an opportunity for us to come together as a Ford family and reaffirm our commitment to giving back to the communities around us,” said Kent Primor, director, Government and Corporate Affairs, Ford Philippines. “While these activities are an important part of our efforts, our work does not end with Global Caring Month. We are continuing this commitment beyond September focused on supporting communities and creating meaningful impact,” he continued.
