Recently, Shanghai enjoyed a rare stretch of beautiful weather. A group of middle school students from the Fun Classroom program in Shangcai County, Henan Province, embarked on a journey of growth and discovery, accompanied by Ford volunteers every step of the way.
On the first day, the children visited the World Skills Museum, where they experienced traditional crafts such as movable-type printing and hair design, before taking in the dazzling night views of Lujiazui and the Bund. Day two brought a trip to Disneyland, where laughter and dreams walked hand in hand with the children. On the third day, the students visited the Shanghai Natural History Museum and the Ford Design Center, gaining insight into the wisdom and dedication behind every vehicle. They then became "Junior Auto Consultants" in the Auto Discovery Challenge, tackling fun team tasks in groups, and got an up-close look at the striking presence of the Ford Mustang. That evening, at the science museum exploration and closing banquet, the children performed self-written and self-directed shows, while volunteers penned heartfelt messages to them. On the final day, they stepped onto the podium at Tongji University together, soaking in its rich academic atmosphere.
This camp is an extension of Ford's broader philanthropic footprint — and a testament to how Ford volunteers, through the combined power of technology and humanity, are helping children from rural communities see a bigger world.
