Ford Vietnam Brings Pickup Community Together to Create Positive Local Impact

Ford Vietnam joined approximately 1,000 pickup enthusiasts and 350 vehicles at Vietnam Pickup Festival 2026, combining community connection, off-road experiences, emergency-response training and local outreach activities in Lang Co, Hue.

After a three-year break, Vietnam Pickup Festival returned July 25-26 with the theme “Together We Discover,” bringing pickup clubs from across the country together at Lang Co Bay Retreat in Hue.

Supported by Ford Vietnam, the festival created an opportunity for approximately 1,000 members and their families to connect, exchange knowledge and celebrate the sense of responsibility that has long defined Vietnam’s pickup community.

More than a gathering for vehicle enthusiasts, the event demonstrated how pickup owners are using their capabilities, experience and community networks to support people in need.

A Community Built by Pickup Owners

Vietnam’s pickup community began with small groups of owners united by a shared passion for their vehicles. Over time, these groups have grown into a network of clubs spanning the country’s northern, central and southern regions.

Their activities extend well beyond exchanging vehicle knowledge and sharing driving experiences. Club members regularly promote safe-driving practices and participate in charitable initiatives, disaster relief and emergency support for communities affected by severe weather and other challenges.

The previous Vietnam Pickup Festival was held in 2023 under the theme “Grow Up Together.” Its return in 2026 marked the next stage of that journey, encouraging members to discover new experiences, learn from one another, and create greater value together.

During the festival, participants joined a vehicle parade along Lang Co’s coastal roads, took part in off-road challenges and team-building activities, and attended exchanges between pickup clubs from across Vietnam. 
 
The “Flavors of Three Regions” cooking competition, led by chef Nguyen Manh Hung, also gave members and their families an opportunity to share the diverse culinary traditions of Vietnam in a welcoming community setting. 
 

A gala on July 25 recognized individuals and clubs that have made meaningful contributions through charity, disaster relief and social-support initiatives. It also provided an opportunity to reflect on the pickup community’s development and celebrate the spirit of service its members have sustained over the years.

Turning Community Connection into Practical Action

Ford Vietnam worked with festival organizers to incorporate emergency-response and first-aid training into the event.

Dr. Ngo Duc Hung, deputy director of the Emergency and Critical Care Center at Hanoi Medical University Hospital, led practical sessions covering essential responses to drowning, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest and multiple-trauma incidents.

The training helped participants strengthen skills that can be applied during community journeys, emergency-relief activities and real-life situations. Ford also supported first-aid training for staff at the Chan May-Lang Co Commune Health Station’s Facility 2.

To strengthen the local health station’s ability to respond to emergencies, Ford Vietnam donated an automated external defibrillator, or AED. The device can provide critical support when a person experiences sudden cardiac arrest.

Ford and participating pickup clubs also delivered 67 scholarships and motorcycle helmets to students at Lang Co Secondary School, helping create a lasting and practical contribution to the host community.

Supporting Customers Beyond the Vehicle

As a long-standing leader in Vietnam’s pickup segment, Ford understands that a strong community is built by the people who use its vehicles every day.

Alongside product development, aftersales service and ownership experience improvements, Ford continues to listen to customers, connect pickup clubs and help create more opportunities for members to meet, learn and support one another. 

Vietnam Pickup Festival 2026 reflected this customer-centered approach by bringing together vehicle experiences, skills development and community service in one shared program.

Ford Vietnam also plans to expand its cooperation with pickup clubs through a matching-fund mechanism for future community initiatives. The program will prioritize support for people recovering from natural disasters, as well as remote and underserved communities.
