COLOGNE, Germany – These are the first official images of Ford Racing’s all-new Hypercar, captured during a test at Paul Ricard circuit in south-east France.
Featuring a chassis developed with ORECA and powered by a 5.4-litre, naturally aspirated Coyote V8 engine, it completed several days of shakedown testing smoothly and according to plan.
Drivers Matt Campbell, Mike Rockenfeller and Tom Blomqvist were on-site for the initial shakedown stage, with Matt and Logan Sargeant taking the wheel for the first track test yesterday (Monday 17 August). Tom is also set to test the car in the coming days.
Ford Racing’s Hypercar will make its competitive debut in next year’s FIA World Endurance Championship where it will also challenge for the outright win of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
