On July 7, 2026, the grid-connection ceremony for the 24MW (megawatt) carport photovoltaic Phase III project was held at Changan Ford's Hangzhou plant.
As the manufacturing industry continues to deepen its green and low-carbon transformation, this milestone adds significant momentum to Changan Ford Hangzhou's green intelligent manufacturing strategy, empowering the company's high-quality development with clean, renewable energy.
Bai Longbin, General Manager of Changan Ford Hangzhou, delivered remarks at the ceremony, extending heartfelt thanks to all project teams for their dedication and hard work in overcoming challenges.

He noted that the project's construction spanned winter and spring, facing numerous challenges including restricted construction conditions and schedule pressures. After months of concerted effort from all parties, the project achieved zero safety incidents and reached full-capacity grid connection one month ahead of schedule—an outstanding accomplishment.
This 24MW photovoltaic project achieved high-quality, full-capacity grid connection at a critical juncture ahead of peak summer electricity demand. The project is equipped with 38,090 high-performance N-type bifacial solar modules, paired with new-generation inverters and complete transformer substation equipment. The hardware configuration is advanced and scientifically arranged, highly suited to the plant's production and operational environment.
The project also leverages four core technologies to establish a differentiated advantage in green power generation:
Integrated carport-photovoltaic design: Delivers dual benefits of vehicle protection and clean power generation, capable of producing an average of 26 million kWh of green electricity annually.
AI-powered smart algorithms and cloud-based scanning control system: Provides round-the-clock intelligent monitoring of equipment status and precise identification of underperforming components, enabling unmanned, smart operations and maintenance.
Green, low-carbon construction standards: Strictly controls energy consumption and dust pollution throughout the construction process.
Full-lifecycle refined operations and maintenance system: Supported by drone inspections, intelligent cleaning robots, and dedicated on-site engineers to ensure the safe, stable, and efficient operation of the photovoltaic power station in all respects.
With the successful launch of the Phase III project, the Hangzhou plant's total installed photovoltaic capacity has surpassed 50MW, ranking first in Hangzhou and among the leaders in China's vehicle manufacturing industry. The plant is expected to generate an average of 54 million kWh of green electricity annually, with solar power accounting for over 50% of the plant's electricity usage. This will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 15,660 tons per year.
The combined installed photovoltaic capacity at Changan Ford's Hangzhou and Chongqing plants now exceeds 90MW, with total power generation reaching 86 million kWh. These tangible green achievements have delivered multiple breakthroughs in cost reduction, carbon reduction, and quality improvement—providing solid support for the company's low-carbon manufacturing upgrade and firmly advancing the nation's "dual carbon" (carbon peak and carbon neutrality) strategy.
