DUNTON, UK – Dunton’s test track was transformed into an electric vehicle racetrack for children recently as the facility hosted the latest round of Greenpower 2026.

Hundreds of children took to the track in battery-powered race cars, supported by a small army of Ford volunteers.

Greenpower Education Trust is a UK based charity which gets young people enthusiastic about science and engineering by challenging them to design, build and race an electric car. Ford has been a proud supporter of Greenpower for more than 20 years.

The charity supplies age-appropriate Kit Cars, which can be built in school, college or elsewhere and raced at Greenpower organised events. The Greenpower challenge uses the excitement of motorsport to inspire young people to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).

Siju Puthanveettil, Ford Greenpower Partnership Lead, said: “Hosting Greenpower at Ford Dunton was an absolute pleasure. Seeing so many young people racing cars they had built themselves was truly inspiring and a brilliant reminder of why this partnership matters.
