- Born in Thailand, the high-performance pickup has grown from a niche enthusiast concept to a global benchmark of Ford Racing engineering, with production scaling sevenfold to meet rising global demand.
Rayong, Thailand, June 25, 2026 – Back in 2018, the iconic moment of a midsize pickup truck soaring through the air, completely airborne before landing flawlessly on a rugged off-road track, redefined the global pickup landscape. This was no ordinary promotional stunt; it was the world’s debut of the first-ever Ford Ranger Raptor.
Eight years later, the Ranger Raptor has transcended its niche origins to become the definitive benchmark for high-performance off-road pickups—seamlessly blending racing DNA, cutting-edge technology, and world-class engineering.
Born Tough at Ford’s Manufacturing Hub in Thailand
While designed and engineered by Ford’s highly skilled product development teams in Australia, the Ranger Raptor’s physical journey began in Thailand. On June 25, 2018, the very first production Ranger Raptor rolled off the assembly line at the state-of-the-art Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) plant in Rayong province, Thailand.
The vehicle’s immediate global success paved the way for expansion. In 2023, Ford introduced the Ranger Raptor to the North American market, launching production at its Michigan Assembly Plant in the United States. Today, FTM remains the primary global production and export hub, proudly shipping the Ranger Raptor to more than 106 countries worldwide.
