Ford Mustang Dark Horse Christens the Tarmac at MADRING

Jun 05, 2026

MADRID, Spain - The MADRING circuit has officially made its debut on the world motorsport stage. As the main sponsor of both the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid and MADRING itself, Ford has taken part in the historic opening of a track destined to mark a new era in the F1 World Championship until 2035.

In its role as the circuit’s official mobility partner, Ford provided a 453 PS V8 Ford Mustang Dark Horse to christen the asphalt with F1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr. at the wheel.

“MADRING is an impressive and different circuit,” he said. "I think it’s going to be a very fun circuit for drivers, with two completely different parts. A street circuit section with overtaking points on the IFEMA straights and a classic circuit part with much faster, wider corners and changes of direction.”

With the first official Grand Prix scheduled for September 11-13, 2026, Ford’s early presence at MADRING bridges the brand’s legendary racing heritage with Ford Racing’s return to F1 in 2026 as official team partner for Oracle Red Bull Racing and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.
