Ford Pro Brings New Extreme Capability Ranger Super Duty to Europe

May 18, 2026

DUNTON, UK – Ford Pro today announced the new Ranger Super Duty is coming to Europe.

Designed to be the hardest working, most capable Ranger on the planet, it sets a new standard for heavy-duty pickups and packs the safety, versatility and technology required to for the most demanding use cases and customer needs in Europe.

Ranger Super Duty offers significantly increased capability with a payload up to 1,982 kg and a maximum towing weight of 4,500 kg, while heavy-duty mechanicals optimise off-road capability and reliability when fully loaded.

Ford Pro expects Ranger Super Duty’s unrivalled capability in Europe will appeal to military, blue light, forestry, infrastructure and mining operators. The new pickup has been developed as the ideal donor vehicle for convertors producing the highly specialised vehicles these customers require for extremely heavy-duty use cases and demanding environments.

“Ranger Super Duty is a vehicle that redefines the limits of capability, offering unprecedented pickup performance to specialist operators whose jobs put the highest demands on their vehicles. Every Super Duty badge is hard-earned, and we’re proud that Europe’s leading pickup is introducing that promise of performance to customers here,” said Kyle Shearer, segment chief engineer, Europe, for the Ford Ranger.

Every Ranger Super Duty is equipped with the Ranger’s latest automatic four-wheel drive system featuring intelligent torque distribution to send torque to the wheel with most grip for enhanced traction and control. A new front locking differential is standard - previously only available on Ranger Raptor - and supports the locking rear differential to optimise capability on softer and uneven surfaces. Front-to-rear undershielding in high-strength steel helps protect the engine and driveline.

As Ford Pro expects many Ranger Super Duty customers to frequently tow, this is the first Ranger with Smart Hitch and Onboard Scales. Smart Hitch helps customers better understand the weight on their vehicle’s towball and how to adjust trailer load for optimum load distribution. Sensors mounted in the suspension on all four wheels mean Onboard Scales can help operators track their payload as they add cargo by monitoring the weight in the load box via the SYNC screen.

Like on the Ranger, towing is also made easier using Pro Trailer Backup Assist. This system uses sensors to track the trailer’s position and allows drivers to steer when reversing using a knob on the centre console.

Ranger Super Duty backs up its hardcore off-road hardware with smart technologies too. Trail Turn Assist can apply the inside rear brake when at low speeds with high steering angle to reduce turn radius. Trail Control works like cruise control, maintaining a constant low speed so drivers can focus on picking the best line through obstacles.

As on standard Ranger models, a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems includes Blind Spot Indication System, a 360° camera, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Auto Emergency Braking, and front and rear parking sensors. As Ford Pro expects the majority of Ranger Super Duty vehicles to feature a conversion, all sensors and cameras at the rear are packaged in a single bar to simplify additional body building.

Ranger Super Duty is on sale now, available directly through Ford Pro with deliveries expected from later this year.
