Ford Wins 5 Inaugural U.S. News Best Adventure Vehicles Awards

May 28, 2026

Ford earned five category wins in the first-ever U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Adventure Vehicles awards. Designed to help shoppers find capable and practical vehicles for outdoor travel, the awards program evaluated 148 models based on off-road metrics, camping utility, and overall vehicle quality.

Three Ford nameplates secured top honors across five categories:

  • Best Subcompact SUV for Off-Roading: 2026 Ford Bronco Sport Sasquatch
  • Best Midsize SUV for Off-Roading: 2026 Ford Bronco
  • Best Full-Size Pickup Truck for Off-Roading: 2026 Ford F-150
  • Best Subcompact SUV for Camping: 2026 Ford Bronco Sport
  • Best Full-Size Pickup Truck for Camping: 2026 Ford F-150

Built for the Outdoors

To determine the winners, U.S. News editors assessed specific criteria tailored to the demands of real-world use. For off-roading, they analyzed trail capabilities like ground clearance, approach and departure angles, skid plates, and all-terrain tires. For camping, they focused on cargo space, passenger comfort, and utility features.

  • The Bronco SUV Family: The Bronco and Bronco Sport Sasquatch were recognized for trail capability, while the Bronco Sport was also named the top subcompact SUV for camping due to its interior space and campsite-friendly utility.
  • The F-150: Winning in both the off-roading and camping categories, the F-150 was highlighted for its Raptor and Tremor models, along with the utility of its available Pro Power Onboard(1) system, which can export power to campsites and appliances.

These awards reflect the dedication of our engineering and product teams to deliver practical, capable vehicles for Ford owners and enthusiasts who value the outdoor lifestyle
