Ford: The Indispensable Icon of Outdoor Living at Beijing Auto Show 2026

Apr 24, 2026

(BEIJING, China, April 24, 2026) — The 19th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition officially kicked off today at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi). While many exhibitors are focused on competing over technical specs and configurations, the Ford booth in Hall A4 offers a refreshing sense of "laid-back" adventure. Ford has transformed its exhibition space into an "Outdoor Theme Park," engaging audiences through continuous live streams about diverse outdoor lifestyles. The brand has issued a compelling invitation to all action-oriented enthusiasts looking to escape the urban grind: “Ready Set Ford”

At this year’s Beijing International Auto Show, Ford not only brought the F-150 Raptor, Bronco Basecamp, Bronco, Ranger, Explorer, and Edge L. together with a lineup of “All-Star Wilderness Travel Buddies,” we’ve also launched a customized experience product for 2026 China Adventure Routes, enabling outdoor enthusiasts eager to hit the road and embrace an outdoor lifestyle to explore the breathtaking beauty of China in a relaxed, enjoyable, and profoundly immersive way.

Precision in Identifying Needs: Serving Action-Oriented Explorers

Embracing the outdoors has become a mainstream lifestyle in China. Data shows that the number of outdoor sports participants has surpassed 400 million, with sales of rugged "box-shaped" SUVs surging by year-on-year. As consumer demand evolves from basic camping to immersive "Overlanding" (self-sustained exploration)—complete with rooftop tents, mobile kitchens, and external power hubs—the vehicle is no longer just a means of transport; it has become a "mobile base" for expanding the boundaries of life.

Ford is here specifically for these "doers" who are passionate about exploration. Whether it’s a light outdoor trip to the suburbs, a weekend micro-vacation, or a deep trek into Hoh Xil, Ford has keenly observed the diverse needs of Chinese players. The brand has precisely defined the "Four Levels of Wild" standards: Leisure Wild, Exploration Wild, Hardcore Wild, and Racing Wild. Identifying the genuine pain points and desires of users is the starting point for Ford’s full-ecosystem closed-loop experience.

The "Four Levels of Wild" Product Line: Your Most Reliable Adventure Expert

To accompany its users, Ford has matched specific outdoor adventure needs with a differentiated product matrix covering all power scenarios.

At the Ford booth, vehicles serve as the keys to nature-based scenarios:

F-150 Raptor: The most trusted lead vehicle for rescue and support when traversing "no-man's lands."

Ford Bronco and Ford Ranger: The hardcore backbone for desert bashing and hill climbing.

Ford Explorer: A reliable partner for desert-edge expeditions.

Ford Bronco Basecamp: A climate-controlled bedroom amidst the clouds and a mobile kitchen in the wilderness.

Drawing on Ford’s century-long automotive heritage and honed through participation in 34 of the world’s premier racing events—including Formula 1, Le Mans, Baja 1000, and Dakar—these vehicles boast a racing DNA that not only ensures they can “go anywhere,” but also lets you “have fun, and come back safely.”

2026 China Adventure Routes: Seamlessly Blending Performance with Culture

To help more users experience the "Ready Set Ford" philosophy, Ford has partnered with Qunar.com to launch the "2026 China Adventure Routes" for the peak travel season between April and October. Four customized routes correspond to the "Four Levels of Wild" scenarios:

  1. Hoh Xil No-Man's Land: Become a guardian of the wilderness led by the F-150 Raptor.
  2. Kubuqi Desert & Ulan Hada Volcano: Challenge sand dunes with the exceptional performance of the Ford Bronco and Ranger.
  3. Southern Xinjiang & Kabanbayi Peak: Experience "car-camping" at the foot of snow-capped mountains with the comfort and capability of the Ford Explorer and Bronco.
  4. Nujiang Grand Canyon: Take the family on the "China’s Most Beautiful Canyon Road" in the Ford Edge L or Equator.

A Century of Outdoor Heritage and Top-Tier Off-Road Ecosystems

For Ford, selling a car is just the beginning; the real goal is bringing users into an outdoor lifestyle. Since the dawn of the company, the mass production of the Model T democratized the automobile and sparked the world's first "Auto Camping Craze." As early as 1914, founder Henry Ford, along with Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone, formed the original "outdoor influencer" group, embarking on modern car camping trips in customized Ford fleets equipped with gasoline stoves and built-in refrigerators.

To bring this professional outdoor experience to more owners, Ford successfully established six "Bronco Off-Roadeo" parks in North America, attracting over 1 million visitors. Ford has brought this DNA to China. The Ford Outdoor Theme Park in Jining is the first professional off-road park in China and the seventh globally, featuring the first AORX® certified track in the country. This 9km jungle track—the largest in Asia—was designed by Chief Expert Bob Burns to be a "breathing track" that coexists with nature. Beyond extreme off-roading, visitors can enjoy hot air ballooning, fly fishing, creek-side coffee, and stargazing.

In the second quarter of this year, the Ford Liuzhou Outdoor Theme Park will officially open. Located in the Sanmenjiang National Forest Park, it integrates China’s stunning Karst landscapes and tropical rainforest environments, filling the gap for top-tier automotive off-road tourism in Southwest China.
