When it comes to reducing our environmental footprint, our big-picture goal remains: We are striving to achieve carbon neutrality across our vehicles, operations, and supply chain by 2050. And every day, there are countless ways that we’re making progress.
Ford’s 2026 Integrated Sustainability and Financial Report, released today, includes data that demonstrates how we’re succeeding, where we’re being challenged, and how we’re continuing to move forward on the Road to Better. This is our 27th sustainability report and the second year that our Sustainability Statement meets the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and has limited assurance from PwC.
Here are some of the highlights:
Building Better Products
In 2025, our vehicle strategy was guided by two core priorities: innovation and customer choice. Electrification remains central to reaching our carbon neutrality goal, and to that end, Ford has reduced our absolute vehicle use greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 40% since 2019. As market conditions and customer desires evolve, we’re providing a range of choices, including electric vehicles, hybrids, and lower-emission gas-powered vehicles.
The goal is to meet each customer where they are. Twenty new electric models, including electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, were introduced by Ford in the last five years. We saw a 30% increase in total electrified sales in 2025 from the previous year.
Innovation is the primary driver behind our progress. Building on a storied history of assembly line excellence, Ford introduced a new chapter in our electric vehicle journey last year with the launch of a Universal Electric Vehicle Platform (UEV) and Production System. The team behind it is taking a page from Formula 1 and obsessing over every design and engineering detail to bring lighter, more aerodynamic, and more affordable electric vehicles to Ford customers. The first vehicle from this platform — a new mid-sized truck assembled in our Louisville Assembly Plant — is due in 2027.
