DUNTON, UK – This weekend marks a major milestone in the history of Ford of Britain as the business celebrates its 115th anniversary.
The incorporation of Ford Motor Company (England) Limited in 1911 was the formal beginning of an enterprise that would become a cornerstone of Ford’s global operations and a powerhouse of British industry.
Under the leadership of the founding father, Sir Percival Perry, the company’s first UK factory was established at Trafford Park, Manchester, in a disused tram works converted to Model T assembly where four-man teams built individual vehicles.
