“The first large shipment of new E-Transit Custom with all-wheel drive will be sent this month from Ford's factory in Turkey and will be ready for delivery to the first Norwegian customers during April,” says Sales Director Asgeir Nordeng at Ford Motor Norway.
“Interest has been very high for what is practically the first electric vehicle in this segment with all-wheel drive and capabilities that meet customers' requirements for a fully functional work vehicle.”
In 2025, 92 per cent of sales of diesel Transit Customs in Norway were models with all-wheel drive.
"This shows that all-wheel drive is absolutely crucial for a large part of this customer group,” adds Nordeng. “Now that we have started selling the electric version with all-wheel drive – with the advantages it brings for operating costs and the company's carbon footprint – while still offering diesel with AWD, we believe that the share of all-wheel drive will increase to 95 per cent this year. Then we are talking about total dominance.”
The E-Transit Custom van with all-wheel drive, like the rear-wheel drive version, has the highest maximum towing capacity in its segment at 2,300 kg. The payload is nearly 1 ton. The range with all-wheel drive is up to 340 km, while rear-wheel drive range is up to 370 km.
