PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA, 02 February 2026 – Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Manufacturing) (Pty) Ltd (“Ford”) has announced the arrival of a new limited-edition Ranger XLT, in an exclusive new exterior colour called Chill Grey. This unique colour is not available in South Africa on any other Ranger derivative, thereby reinforcing its eye-catching appeal.
With production capped at 250 units, the limited-edition Ranger XLT offers customers an opportunity to stand out from the crowd, not only through its cosmetic upgrades but also thanks to upgraded interior features. With a strong focus on maintaining the XLT’s excellent value, the exclusive Chill Grey colour is included in the limited number of XLT vehicles equipped with this Upgrade Pack 6, priced at R58 600 (includes VAT).
The bespoke Ranger XLT features a range of visual and functional enhancements that elevate both style and everyday usability. Exterior highlights include a sports bar, black side mirrors and door handles and 17-inch alloy sport wheels fitted with All-Terrain tyres, giving the vehicle a purposeful and premium stance. Underbody protection further reinforces the Ranger’s reputation for toughness and off-road capability.
Inside the cabin, the limited-edition model features leather seats, a leather steering wheel, and a leather gear knob adding a premium touch, while wireless charging improves everyday convenience. Accessory switches are also included, allowing customers to easily integrate additional equipment to suit their lifestyle or work requirements.
Safety remains a core focus, with this version equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies. These include Collision Mitigation, Post Impact Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring, all designed to enhance driver confidence and occupant protection across a wide range of driving conditions.
The introduction of the exclusive Chill Grey colour reflects Ford’s continued investment in local manufacturing excellence. In 2023, Ford invested in an innovative new skid cleaning facility for its advanced Paint Shop, supported by a comprehensive range of technology and system upgrades across the facility.
Having held the honour of being the first fully automated facility of its kind in the Ford world, the robotic skid cleaning cell uses extremely high water pressure of 2 500 bar to remove built-up paint residue from the vehicle skids that carry vehicles through the painting process. This ensures consistent docking and accurate positioning of the body and loadbox on the skid, enabling optimal and repeatable paint application.
By continuously cleaning the skids, the amount of dirt, residue, and contaminants entering the Paint Shop is significantly reduced, resulting in improved paint quality and enhanced First Time Through (“FTT”) performance. The skid cleaning facility complements recent Paint Shop upgrades, including extended ovens, paint inspection tunnels, and an upgraded automated wax sealant application process, further strengthening Ford’s commitment to world-class build quality.
With its unique colour, enhanced specification, and strictly limited production run, this Ranger XLT represents a distinctive addition to the Ranger portfolio and a highly desirable option for customers seeking something truly special.
