Two Ford teams triumph at Lake Placid Pond Hockey Tournament

Feb 02, 2026

Lake Placid’s CAN/AM recreational hockey tournament brings together 96 teams from across the U.S. and Canada to compete for glory on the ice. This year, two Ford teams,  including one that counted Executive Chair Bill Ford among its roster, emerged victorious. Players competed in frigid temperatures wearing multiple layers of clothing, and Bill Ford’s team won six of six games on the way to the championship.

“It’s a blast,” Ford said. “Lake Placid is a really special place. We bring Ford hats and shirts and give them to players on the other teams. They love it and you see everyone wearing them, but as soon as we get on the ice, they try to kill us because we’re pretty good and no one wants to lose.”

A second Ford team also won at Lake Placid, as Team Super Duty took home the title in the 50+ Division.
