PHOTOS: Bronco Frostwarden with 1200+ Horsepower Megazilla 2.0 Engine Unveiled at SEMA

Nov 03, 2026

What's New:

Ford Racing Parts unveiled the Megazilla 2.0 supercharged 7.3-liter V8 crate engine at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. It is installed in Frostwarden, a one-off Bronco halo build.

Why It Matters:

  • Megazilla 2.0 is the most powerful crate engine ever created by an automaker.*
  • It shows how far Ford Racing Parts can push its catalog, from heritage Mustang and Bronco builds to F-100 and custom chassis projects.
  • SEMA gives the team a direct line to builders, fabricators, and customers. That helps Ford see where demand is heading.
  • The build supports the Ford Customer Service Division's message: Ford powers what builders imagine.

The Big Picture:

  • Ford is returning to SEMA with bigger, bolder builds.
  • Ford Customization and Ford Racing Parts are shifting from making vehicles people customize to supplying the engines, parts, engineering know-how, and support that take those projects further.
  • Halo builds like this give the team room to experiment and start conversations that shape the next wave of aftermarket projects.

By the Numbers:

  • 1,200+: horsepower
  • 1,000+: lb-ft of torque
  • 7.3 liters: engine displacement
  • 3.0 liters: Gen 6 Whipple supercharger
  • 42 inches: BFGoodrich tire size
  • 18 inches: custom WELD beadlock wheels

Timeline:

  • February: build work began
  • June: physical build shifted into high gear
  • October: engine came off the dyno and went straight into the vehicle

How it Works:

  • Engine: Megazilla 2.0 is a new development program, not Megazilla 1.0 with a supercharger added. It has a stronger block, a supercharger-specific camshaft, upgraded pistons, larger fuel injectors, and a different belt drive and damper. The Whipple supercharger is at the center of the package.
  • Vehicle: Frostwarden began as a Bronco Arctic search-and-rescue concept. It has 74Weld portal gear lifts, upgraded Dana driveline hardware, and custom Bilstein dampers.
  • Timeline: The engine came off the dyno and traveled overnight to Kincer's shop in Tennessee. Teams then prepared it for first fire, calibration, and continued development.

Note: Frostwarden is a specialty-modified performance vehicle and is not for sale.
