For Global Caring Month, Ford South Africa and the Hatfield Motor Group team came together at Johannesburg Children’s Home for a day of community, connection and care.
The visit was part of Ford Building Together, an initiative that brings Ford and its dealer network together to support local communities. The dealer group nominated the home, and employees from both the dealership and Ford South Africa volunteered their time to make the day special for the children.
There was plenty to enjoy. The children got fresh haircuts and joined the team for a lively game of soccer. Meanwhile, volunteers got to work in the garden, lending a hand to help care for the home’s surroundings. The day ended around a braai hosted by the volunteers for the children.
The most meaningful moments were found in the time spent together: sharing laughter, making memories and showing the children that their community cares.
“It’s the effort and the love and that that you feel when you leave here after you’ve been here. That is what makes me come back, that is what makes me get my colleagues involved.” - For Lavonne Davis, Dealer Principal at Hatfield Motor Group
The visit was a reminder that making a difference doesn’t always take grand gestures. Sometimes, it starts with showing up, lending a hand and sharing a day.
Through Ford Building Together and Global Caring Month, Ford South Africa and its dealer partners are helping turn that spirit of care into action, one community, one volunteer and one memorable day at a time.
