Driving Through the Floods: Ford Thailand Mobilizes Aid for Communities in Need

As severe flooding impacted communities across several provinces in Thailand, Ford Thailand and its partners moved quickly to support affected residents.

With emergency funding from Ford Philanthropy, Scholars of Sustenance Thailand (SOS Thailand) rapidly coordinated relief efforts throughout September, from the first major floods in Nan, one of the northern provinces hardest hit by the disaster, to the widespread flooding that affected Bangkok and other provinces in recent days. Through a pre-funded disaster relief grant from Ford Philanthropy, SOS Thailand was able to mobilize quickly, working with local partners to deliver freshly prepared meals, fruit and essential supplies to families whose homes and livelihoods had been affected by rising waters.

As heavy rainfall caused flooding in Bangkok and other provinces, Ford Thailand immediately mobilized support by providing high-clearance Ford vehicles, including the Ford Ranger Super Duty, Ranger Wildtrak-X and Ranger Wolftrak, to help transport food and essential supplies to affected communities. Ford employees from several teams, including SE&O, Communications and Sales, volunteered alongside Ford Service Engineers, SOS Thailand and food donation partners to collect, pack and deliver aid to communities facing prolonged flooding.

The collaboration highlights the strength of Ford’s community partnerships and a shared commitment to helping those in need. SOS Thailand is one of eight nonprofit organizations based at the Ford Community Center in Bangkok, a hub that brings together organizations working to create positive impact in communities across Thailand.

The response also extended across Ford's dealer network. In Rayong and Chonburi, Ford dealers worked closely with local communities to provide support to residents affected by the flooding, reinforcing Ford's commitment to standing alongside communities when they need it most. Together with Ford Philanthropy, SOS Thailand, employee volunteers and community partners, these efforts reflect Ford's Building Together approach, bringing people, resources and expertise together to help communities respond to challenges and recover stronger.

Ford Thailand also supported media and social-impact partners serving communities during the floods by providing Ford vehicles capable of accessing challenging areas. Through collaborations with Nation TV, Autospinn, and E Jun, Ford vehicles helped enable the rapid delivery of aid while raising awareness of relief efforts in flood-affected communities.

As recovery efforts continue, Ford Thailand remains committed to working alongside trusted partners and volunteers to support communities and help deliver assistance where it is needed most.
