Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) has reached a significant milestone in its commitment to its workforce, being officially recognized as one of only 13 workplaces in the country to receive the ‘2025 Total Worker Health Award’ in category Model Workplace.
Noppawat Nitidamrongrat, FTM’s Safety Manager, recently accepted the honorary plaque from Lieutenant Saroj Komkay, Director-General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare.
Building on its strong safety record, FTM spent the past year elevating workplace standards through a rigorous national well-being project. A key highlight was the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), where professional psychologists provide dedicated mental health support. This commitment to treating mental well-being with the same importance as physical safety was instrumental in FTM being named a national model factory.
The Six Pillars of Success
FTM’s success is built upon a comprehensive six-pillar framework:
1. Clear Policy & Communication: Translating safety and health goals into actionable missions with measurable KPIs.
2. Leadership Commitment: Management leads by example, actively participating in health activities such as football, volleyball, running, and yoga.
3. Active Participation: Engaging employees in diverse initiatives, including blood donations, scholarships for further education, NCD awareness, and World Mental Health Day activities.
4. Effective Operational Mechanisms: Close collaboration between the Employee Committee and the Safety Committee to ensure a responsive and efficient work environment.
5. Holistic Integration: Seamlessly blending occupational health, safety, and personal well-being into a single "Total Worker Health" strategy.
6. Targeted Solutions: Developing programs that meet the specific needs of the workforce, exemplified by the EAP initiative.
“This award reflects our 'People First' philosophy,” said Noppawat Nitidamrongrat. “At FTM, we believe that our employees are the heart of our organization. Being named a national model workplace inspires us to continue fostering a safe and happy environment where every team member can thrive. Mental health is among our top priorities, and we are grateful for the full support of our management team in making these initiatives a reality.”
This recognition not only honors FTM but also serves as a benchmark for the industry in Thailand, showcasing how a holistic approach to worker health can lead to a more sustainable and productive workplace.
