As the year drew to a close, the Silverton Assembly Plant didn't just cross the finish line of a successful manufacturing calendar—it ran through it together. Thousands of employees laced up their running shoes for the annual Ranger Dash, a 5km fun run that transformed the plant into a vibrant display of camaraderie and collaboration.
This was not just any race. This was a "Race with a Purpose."
While the event celebrated our collective hard work, the true heart of the day was the unwavering support for people living with disabilities. At Silverton, we pride ourselves on being a workplace that empowers employees with diverse abilities, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive. The Ranger Dash served as a physical symbol of that commitment—moving forward, side by side, leaving no one behind.
The spirit of inclusion extended beyond the track. The day was packed with activities designed to foster understanding and empathy. A highlight of the event was the interactive zone hosted by Ford Empowering Diverse Abilities (FEDA). They set up immersive simulation stations that allowed participants to experience the daily barriers faced by people living with different physical challenges.
These simulations were more than just demonstrations; they were powerful lessons in perspective. By stepping into the shoes of others, our team gained a deeper appreciation for the resilience of our colleagues and the importance of accessible design and inclusive thinking.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the run and engaged with the FEDA activities. By combining our end-of-year celebrations with meaningful advocacy, the Silverton family has once again shown that our greatest strength lies in our unity and our diversity.
