Ford South Africa Elevates the People-Mover Game with All-New Tourneo Custom Sport and Luxurious Titanium X

• Tourneo Custom range set to expand with addition of dynamic Sport and premium Titanium X derivatives in short-wheelbase configuration

PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA, 19 August 2025 – The latest-generation Ford Tourneo Custom arrived last year with all-new levels of technology, comfort and versatility. Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Manufacturing)(Pty) Ltd (“Ford South Africa”) is now expanding its line-up with two exciting models; the dynamic Tourneo Custom Sport, as well as the range-topping Tourneo Custom Titanium X, both of which raise the bar thanks to premium levels of sophistication and design.

The new additions retain the Tourneo Custom’s exceptional space and configurability but elevate the people-mover segment with trend-setting style and status. They are both offered in short wheelbase configurations but retain the eight-seater layout, where the Active and Trend use the long wheelbase platform with additional luggage capacity.

The current-generation Tourneo Custom’s improved vehicle architecture, independent rear suspension, and powerful engine deliver a smooth, comfortable ride and impressive fuel efficiency.

The Tourneo Custom’s enhanced feature content is combined with a significant improvement in capability and performance. The vehicle’s all-new architecture delivers a lower floor height and a new integrated sidestep to make ingress and loading easier, supported by a class-leading aperture for the sliding side door.

The interior specification starts with a flexible track-mounted seating system in the second and third rows, for maximum adaptability when arranging the cabin for people and luggage. The tracked seating enables customers to slide seats forward or back along notched tracks set into the rear cabin floor, or to lift seats out completely.

The new seats are lightweight and the second row features integrated seatbelts, so reconfiguring the cabin can be done more quickly and easily. ISOFIX points are available on all three seats in the second row as well as the two outboard seats in the third row.

The vehicle’s overall height of under two metres makes it easy to access garages and multi-storey car parks, as well as contributing to optimised efficiency through improved aerodynamics.

Both models are powered by Ford’s single-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 125kW of power and maximum torque of 390Nm, compared to the 100kW/360Nm outputs of the Active and Trend derivatives.

Drive is delivered to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, with five drive modes to optimise performance and efficiency, comprising Normal, Eco, Slippery, Tow/Haul and Sport. Furthermore, advanced driver assistance features such as Adaptive Cruise Control enhance both convenience and safety.

Elevating the ownership experience is FordPass which offers a suite of convenient features accessible directly from a smartphone. With the FordPass app, owners can remotely control their vehicle, including starting and stopping the engine, locking and unlocking doors and even scheduling starts to pre-condition the cabin’s climate. This seamless connectivity allows owners to check vital vehicle information such as fuel levels, oil life and tyre pressure - ensuring the vehicle is always ready for its next journey.

Tourneo Custom Sport

As the more dynamic addition to the Tourneo Custom range, the new Sport model echoes many of the eye-catching design cues that were introduced on the Transit Custom Sport van. It appeals to the buyer who is constantly pushing the limits and needs a vehicle to get them to the trail, the racetrack, or the training ground with energy and confidence.

Its dynamic styling includes the distinctive Sport honeycomb-style grille and full body-colour front bumper, Sport body kit with an assertive rear spoiler, as well as bold dual black and blue sport stripes that run from the front bumper over the vehicle and down the rear door and bumper. This is complemented by side decals that add to the more athletic appearance, along with standard LED tail lamps. Fitted as standard are 17-inch sport alloy wheels, with the option of 19-inch versions.

Inside the passengers are treated to the Sport trim level’s more vibrant character, featuring blue accent stripes for the seats and partial leather trim. This is matched to premium piano black surrounds for the multi-function display and centre console. The standard infotainment system includes the large 13‑inch landscape touchscreen which is equipped with Ford’s SYNC®4 communication and infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with 10 speakers.

Further front cabin space and increased instrument panel storage is created by the roof-mounted front passenger airbag. This enables customers to keep laptop or A4 folder-sized items in covered dashboard storage, and means portable electronic devices can now be safely fitted closer to the driver

Furthermore, the Tourneo Custom Sport benefits from the inclusion of an extensive range of driver assistance features, including Adaptive Cruise Control, front and reverse parking aids, Reverse Brake Assist, Collision Mitigation, Ford’s Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), dual heated mirrors and a leather-trimmed steering wheel.

Tourneo Custom Titanium X

In keeping with its premium positioning, the Tourneo Titanium X is the ultimate vehicle for attending exclusive events, family getaways, or simply enjoying a stylish and comfortable ride to a trendy lifestyle destination. Its premium interior, advanced features and refined aesthetics provide an unparalleled level of sophistication.

The new Titanium X stands out with a classy front grille treatment, complemented by Matrix LED headlamps and striking multi-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels.

In addition to the feature enhancements on the Sport, the Titanium X gains a powered front passenger seat and a 360-degree camera, further aiding visibility and manoeuvrability in tight spaces.

Both derivatives come with the option of adding the Mobile Office pack for even greater practicality. This adds a range of practical features designed to make working on the go easier and more comfortable. It includes enhanced cab lighting for better visibility, convenient laptop and tablet stowage between the seats, and an integrated rubbish bin to help keep the space tidy. Additional USB connections ensure you can keep devices charged, while accessory docking provides a secure and adaptable mounting solution for a variety of equipment.

The Ford Family Promise ensures that customers are treated like family, benefitting from Ford’s national dealer network which spans 118 strategically located facilities across South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, and Eswatini, ensuring convenient access for customers.

To optimise customer convenience when it comes to scheduled maintenance, Ford owners have access to online service bookings, 60-minute Express Service, free vehicle pick-up and delivery as well as mobile servicing in selected areas as some of the innovative value-added features that are available.

The recommended Retail Price includes a six-year/90 000km Ford Optional Service Plan, four-year/120 000km Ford warranty, four-year/unlimited distance Roadside Assistance and five-year/unlimited distance corrosion warranty. In addition, over the counter (OTC) parts and service parts warranty (SPW) are covered for two-year/unlimited distance. The recommended service interval is 15 000km or annually, whichever occurs first.

Customers have the option of purchasing Ford Protect Service or Maintenance Plan upgrades up to eight years or 165 000km. The warranty can be extended up to seven years or 200 000km, while the Roadside Assistance can be extended for an additional one or two years.
