Ford Vietnam Celebrates 30 Years Together with Passion

Aug 18, 2025

Ford Vietnam proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary in Hanoi, marking three decades of growth, investment, and strong relationships with employees, dealers, customers, and communities. The event brought together Ford global and regional leaders, dealer partners, employees from the Hai Duong plant, loyal customers, and representatives from the Vietnamese government, creating a moment not only to honor history but also to look forward with confidence.

Since becoming the first American automaker to invest in Vietnam in 1995, Ford has contributed more than $200 million to the country, expanded the Hai Duong assembly plant, and built a nationwide dealer network. Reflecting on this journey, Ruchik Shah, Managing Director of Ford Vietnam, shared: “Three decades of growth and commitment — to Vietnam, our employees, our customers, our dealers, our communities. Today is a celebration of all that has come before us and a showcase of the best that is still to come. The history that really matters is the history we are making today.” His words captured the spirit of the celebration – a recognition that Ford’s legacy in Vietnam is built together with the people and communities it serves.

At the heart of this success is the Hai Duong plant, home to more than 1,200 employees and a symbol of Ford’s long-term commitment. Speaking with pride, Andrea Cavallaro, Operations Director of Ford International Markets Group, noted: “What makes our plant special – what gives it heart and soul – are the twelve hundred people who come there every day to work! I am so proud of our team. And what I love most about them is their spirit and passion for success.” The applause from employees in attendance reflected the pride and dedication that continue to drive Ford forward.

The anniversary was also the stage for a new chapter of social responsibility, as Ford launched the global initiative Building Together, with Vietnam chosen as the first market outside North America. “As a family company, Ford has been guided by strong values and a deep commitment to community service since our founding. I’m very excited to announce the global expansion of a new initiative that will make the impact we can achieve together even stronger. It’s called Ford Building Together – and through it, Ford is combining all of our strengths to help build and rebuild communities. Thank you all for the amazing work you have done and continue to do,” said Mary Culler, President of Ford Philanthropy. In Vietnam, the initiative will focus on road safety education, disaster preparedness, and scholarships for the next generation of technicians, while the new Ford Volunteer Hub will empower employees to contribute even more to society.

A central part of the celebration was also to recognize the invaluable role of dealers and customers. From just three dealers in 1997 to 56 today, Ford’s dealer network has been a cornerstone of its growth. Yukontorn “Vickie” Wisadkosin, President of Ford ASEAN & APDM, emphasized: “Our dealer partners are one of many reasons Vietnam is such a strong market for Ford. They are a group of exceptional leaders who truly understand how to build lasting relationships with customers.” Customers, too, were honored for their loyalty and passion. As one long-time owner expressed: “From the bottom of my heart, I thank the Ford family — the home where we place our confidence and pride.”

The atmosphere throughout the event was filled with emotion and unity, from video tributes highlighting employees’ contributions to heartfelt acknowledgements of loyal dealers and community partners. Closing the ceremony, Jeff Marentic, President of Ford International Markets Group, captured the essence of the day: “This has been an amazing morning. On behalf of Ford Motor Company, I want to thank our employees, our dealers, our loyal customers, our club members and the government for your trust, your support, and your participation in shaping the Ford story in Vietnam. Here’s to an exciting future for all of us!”

As Ford Vietnam marks this 30-year milestone, the message is clear: its journey is not only about vehicles, but about people, passion, and shared purpose. With continued investment, the launch of Building Together, and the enduring strength of its employees, dealers, and customers, Ford Vietnam looks ahead to a future defined by innovation, sustainability, and community. Here’s to the next 30 years.
