High Roof Nugget Makes Global Debut at Caravan Salon Düsseldorf

DÜSSELDORF, Germany - Ford Nugget fans are in for a treat because Ford Pro is expanding the range with a roomier new fixed high roof version which is making its global debut at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf.

Ford Pro has significantly increased both sleeping and storage space in this latest Nugget. The mattress in the high roof is 2.05 meters long and 1.30 meters wide – that’s 5 centimeters wider than in Nuggets with a pop-up roof. When the sleeping berths are unused, the roof bed can be folded upwards creating a generous interior height of 2.09 meters.

The high roof Nugget is available in two layouts. In the version with a large wardrobe, the storage volume increases to a total of 911 liters – 235 liters more than with the classic pop-up roof. A permanently installed toilet is also available. In this version, the storage space still reaches a volume of 711 liters, 180 liters more than in the Nugget with pop-up roof. In both configurations, kitchen wall units offer 70 liters of space for cooking utensils and supplies, and the freshwater tank holds 53 liters.

The Ford Nugget with a fixed high roof will be available at market launch in the premium Titanium trim level, as well as with the 110 kW (150 hp) 2.0-liter TDCI EcoBlue turbodiesel, a 6-speed manual transmission, and front-wheel drive.

With the longer L2 wheelbase, it has a total length of 5.45 meters. Its curb weight of 2,820 kilograms is exactly the same as the lightest version with a pop-up roof. Up to a permissible gross weight of 3,300 kilograms, the Nugget with a fixed high roof can transport almost half a ton of luggage and equipment. If necessary, it can also tow a trailer weighing up to 2,000 kilograms.

Visitors to Caravan Salon Düsseldorf can also see the new Ranger PHEV with hardtop and roof tent from the Ford accessories range.

Also, on show on the Ford Pro stand, is Dethleffs GLOBEBUS GO T45 semi-integrated motorhome for two people. With its compact dimensions of 2.20 meters wide and 6.69 meters long, it retains the agile and safe handling of the Ford Transit.

Alongside, Sunlight is showcasing its go-anywhere CLIFF 4x4 Greentrek special edition camper van. Based on the Ford Transit 2.0 TDCi EcoBlue AWD with 122 kW (165 hp), a 6-speed manual transmission, and increased ground clearance, it features transverse beds and a generous panoramic rooflight plus a remarkable headroom of 1.99 meters.
