A New Chapter Begins: One Millionth Vehicle Produced at Changan Ford Hangzhou Plant

A new Ford Explorer rolled off the final assembly line at Changan Ford’s Hangzhou plant on August 2, making it the one-millionth vehicle produced at the plant since it began production a decade ago in March 2015. Jason Ai, president of Changan Ford; Luo Song, general manager of Changan Ford Hangzhou plant; Bai Longbin, acting general manager. government representatives from the Qiantang District (where the plant is located) as well as employees and their families were in attendance.

The Hangzhou plant is a key manufacturing center for Ford in China, producing premium Ford and Lincoln brand models. The plant was established with a significant investment as part of Ford’s strategy to grow in China and has highly flexible production lines that are capable of producing multiple vehicle models.

Jason Ai, on behalf of Changan Ford, thanked all sectors of society for their support of the plant. In expressing appreciation for employees’ hard work, he stated that the Hangzhou plant differentiates itself as a customer-centric manufacturing facility, achieving high-quality production of multiple premium models through continuous breakthroughs in production efficiency and product quality.

From Ford Edge to Explorer, and from Lincoln Aviator to Nautilus, each model produced at the plant reflects the commitment to offering quality vehicles to customers, which has earned widespread recognition by the market.

These achievements would not be possible without the vigorous efforts of all employees and the close cooperation between government and enterprise. Ai also positioned the one millionth vehicle milestone as a new starting point to adhere to the plant’s "high quality, high efficiency, and low cost" goals in vehicle production. He expressed his firm belief that the collective power of a modern, advanced plant and the dedication of its employees will enable Changan Ford Hangzhou to overcome challenges and move toward a more brilliant future.
