May 19, 2025

May 12, 2025 -- On the 17th National Disaster Prevention Day, Ford China officially launched the 2025 ForDR CSR program, collaborating with non-governmental rescue organizations to deliver disaster preparedness training and support for disaster-affected communities across China. Under the guidance of the China Association for Disaster Prevention, Ford China established the "ForDR Alliance", creating a coordinated platform for Ford owners, employees, and dealers to work alongside professional rescue teams, forming a multi-stakeholder disaster resilience network.

Introduced by Ford China in 2024, the ForDR Program aims to enhance public disaster response capabilities and develop Ford owners and community residents into key responders during emergencies. Having been successfully held in six cities with wild acclaims, the program will expand to 15 cities in 2025, offering 22 training sessions through a co-teaching session that pairs professional rescue team with Ford dealership experts. This approach ensures standardized, professional instruction for broader beneficiary groups.

"'To help build a better world' has guided Ford's mission for over 120 years and resonates deeply with our owners," said Ms. Molly Yang, Vice President, Ford China Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility. "Through media coverage, we always witness Ford owners' heroic rescue action. We wish to equips these brave individuals not only with the courage to act in crises but also with life-saving skills for themself and others."

To consolidate corporate and dealership resources, leverage Ford vehicles' operational strengths, and empower qualified owners to assist during emergencies, the ForDR Alliance has been launched to optimize relief support for disaster-impacted populations.

"Vehicle owners constitute a critical grassroots emergency force due to their numerical presence, diverse operational scenarios, and rapid mobilization capacity," emphasized Zhang Guoyuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association for Disaster Prevention. "The ForDR Alliance will systematize owners' disaster response roles, fosteringcollaboration among vehicle owners, rescue teams, and enterprises to establish mobile emergency response units." The China Disaster Prevention Association's Emergency Rescue Service Branch will provide technical oversight to ensure the alliance's structured development.

Aligned with the theme of 2025 National Disaster Prevention Day — " Safety awareness and skill for everyone: Identify Hidden Risks" — dual launch ceremonies for the 2025 ForDR Program were held in Shanghai and Nanjing. Open to Ford employee volunteers, the training sessions enhance safety awareness and emergency response skills. All certified Ford employees have joined the ForDR Alliance as its founding members.
