DUNTON, UK – Ford’s all-new Puma Gen-E is ready to take on all rivals so where better to officially launch it in the UK than the home of the 2012 London Olympics.
Earlier this month, Ford invited top tier media to Here East on the fringes of the Olympic Park in Stratford for a deep dive into the company’s most affordable all-electric SUV, and a chance to get behind the wheel in person.
Elaine Martin, Passenger Vehicle Product Manager and Customer Experience Manager for the UK and Ireland, told @Ford: “We invited media guests from the UK and Ireland to this special event in Here East where they were given a full overview of Puma Gen-E by myself and my colleague Simon Finch, Puma and Puma Gen-E Product Manager for UK and Ireland.
“Media also got to learn about our recently announced Ford Power Promise and how that makes switching to an electric vehicle simpler and more affordable. The reaction we received was very positive.”
Puma Gen-E’s new electric powertrain delivers up to 233 miles of WLTP range on a full charge, and more than 300 miles of city range, providing days of charge-free urban trips.
Connected to a fast charger, a 10-80 per cent charge takes Puma Gen-E approximately 23 minutes, while seamless acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 8.0 seconds and quicker steering response delivers the essence of Puma ST in electric form.
For the busy city dweller or young family, Puma Gen-E offers even greater space efficiency thanks to the compact electric powertrain. Puma’s innovative MegaBox boot storage space has been boosted to become GigaBox, meaning up to 574 litres of room for luggage with the rear seats in place – more than some larger SUVs can offer – and the space can be filled with water to keep drinks cool.
A 43-litre frunk makes good use of the space vacated by the petrol engine, ideal for storing accessories so they can be retrieved even if the boot is full.
