Ford and Mazda Celebrate AAT's 30th Anniversary

Dec 02, 2025

Auto Alliance (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (AAT), the joint manufacturing venture of Ford and Mazda, is commemorating 30 years of operation in Thailand. This anniversary underscores its significant contribution to the advancement of the Thai automotive sector, a commitment strengthened by the 'One AAT' policy that unifies its workforce in striving for excellence.

Three Decades of Pride and Strong Foundations

Since its establishment in November 1995 as a joint venture between Ford Motor Company and Mazda Motor Corporation, AAT has made history as a modern, fully integrated automotive manufacturing plant with an initial investment of over $500 million USD. Over the past three decades, AAT has not only played a significant role in setting standards and elevating the quality of automotive production but has also consistently driven economic and social progress.

Currently, Ford and Mazda continue to invest significantly in AAT, creating employment for over 5,400 employees and elevating Thai labor skills to international standards. The high domestic parts procurement ratio of up to 67% further supports local entrepreneurs in Thailand and generates tangible added value. This proud achievement is underscored by a cumulative production of over four million vehicles, confirming AAT's vital role in propelling Thailand to become a leading global automotive hub.

‘Craftsmanship’ – The Heart Driving Global Excellence

AAT adheres to the philosophy of ‘craftsmanship’, believing that its employees are at the core of the automotive production process. Each employee is not merely an operator but a ‘creator’ who meticulously assembles every vehicle with expertise and dedication, ensuring that all cars leaving AAT's production line meet world-class quality standards.

Over the past 30 years, AAT has grown steadily, while continuously developing its personnel. Today, key management teams across all AAT departments are Thai nationals, demonstrating success in developing the potential and capabilities of Thai people to become international leaders, and reflecting the confidence that both Ford and Mazda place in Thai personnel to drive AAT's sustainable progress.

A Global Automotive Manufacturing Hub and Future Vision

AAT serves as a crucial global production base for both Ford and Mazda, manufacturing models such as the Ford Ranger, Ford Everest, Mazda2, Mazda CX-3, and Mazda CX-30. The plant also notably exports the Mazda CX-3 to Japan. In addition to being the sole global plant producing the Ford Everest for both domestic sales and export to over 100 countries worldwide, AAT has recently been entrusted by Ford Motor Company to be the sole global plant to produce the Ford Ranger Super Duty. This new pickup truck combines heavy-duty capability with the versatility for daily use, having recently launched officially in Australia and scheduled for an official launch in Thailand, New Zealand and other markets next year.

Silvio Illi, President and CEO of Auto Alliance (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated, “The celebration of AAT's 30th anniversary is a tribute to all our employees and the spirit of ‘craftsmanship’ that we uphold. We are immensely proud that Thai people have risen to leadership roles, driving the organization to achieve international recognition. We extend our sincere gratitude to all our suppliers and business partners who have contributed to this success. AAT will continue its unwavering commitment to develop and lead in producing quality vehicles that meet future consumer needs. We will continuously invest in enhancing the expertise of our personnel expertise in advanced technology, while upholding sustainable business practices and social and environmental responsibility.”
