VALENCIA, Spain – A year after more than 200 people lost their lives in the DANA flash floods that hit Valencia in 2024, Ford Spain and its Dealer Network have presented a cheque for 11,800 Euros to the World Central Kitchen (WCK) that continues to support those affected by the disaster.
The funds were raised by salespeople and customers across the entire network of Ford Spain dealers who contributed 5 Euros for every test drive taken in a Ford, and the money will be used to support ongoing relief work, reconstruction and reopening of businesses affected by flooding.
The collaboration between Ford Spain and World Central Kitchen is a well-established relationship that began during the pandemic and has continued to provide support in various emergencies. During the DANA storm in Valencia, Ford Spain provided vehicles such as the Bronco and the Raptor to support WCK members in distributing aid in the worse effected areas.
Jesús Alonso, President and CEO of Ford Spain, highlighted the importance of the joint effort: "At Ford Spain, we want to thank all the dealerships and World Central Kitchen for their tireless work. This initiative demonstrates the power of unity and the commitment of our network to society, especially in times of need."
Pepa Muñoz, chef of El Quenco de Pepa and WCK ambassador in Spain, emphasized the valuable alliance with Ford: "We are grateful to Ford for the growing relationship and the immediate response they always offer whenever an emergency arises. Their support is essential so that we can continue bringing hope and food to those who need it most."
