Ford Thailand, led by Rattakarn Jutasen, managing director and Jane Holloway, senior manager of International Market Groups for Ford Philanthropy, has been recently recognized with the Corporate Social Impact Award at Platinum Level for the 15th consecutive year from the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM). The award was presented by Catherine Spillman, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs Minister Counselor at the Embassy of the United States of America in Thailand, and Simon Denye, AMCHAM Board Governor.
The AMCHAM’s Corporate Impact Awards are presented to its member companies that contribute to the social and environmental development of Thailand. This is achieved by collaborating with numerous NGO partners to implement various community projects aimed at developing youth skills to prepare them for the future workforce, promoting equality among vulnerable groups, and providing essential assistance during crises. These efforts align with the award’s criteria and reflect Ford's unwavering commitment to social development.
With the mission of ‘Future-Ready’, Ford has continuously invested in human resource development through the 11th innovation competition program - Ford Smart Mobility Challenge. The program has been encouraging Thai youth's innovative ideas to be further developed and practically applied within their surrounding communities, while also providing life-long learning for the participating student teams. Ford Thailand also continues its 'Transforming Knowledge into Careers’ project for several years, driving Thai vocational education towards producing high-skilled labor through scholarships and both theoretical and practical trainings and donating engines for educational purposes.
By promoting social inclusion, Ford Thailand mobilized volunteers from employees and its dealer network to deliver various projects to communities in 'Ford Global Caring Month'. This included the 'Dream Builder for School' project, which involves improving and restoring the school’s environment and providing career guidance to over 100 students in Rayong province; promoting the hygiene for homeless individuals in Bangkok; and the 'Ride to Recovery' project, where Ford supported the Mirror Foundation with over 870,000 baht to help homeless patients access healthcare more easily.
In terms of providing urgent response, Ford Thailand actively joins the 'Ford Building Together' project by encouraging 51 dealerships nationwide to participate in the 'Ford Food Drive' activity which collected over 13,349 tons of rice, drinking water and dried food, equivalent to providing over 24,500 meals to vulnerable households across the country.
