DUNTON, UK – Ford has launched Building Together in the UK, a global initiative uniting the company’s people, expertise and resources to strengthen communities through education, food security, disaster relief and more.

For more than 120 years, Ford Motor Company has supported communities throughout America and across the globe. This has inspired Ford Building Together - an initiative dedicated to giving back. So far, this has resulted in 2.4 billion dollars in philanthropic giving, 1.8 million volunteer hours generated, and 39 countries receiving help.

As part of the effort, Ford and its dealers worldwide have been hosting food drives to fight hunger. Working with trusted non-profits and food banks, customers were encouraged to donate non-perishable goods at participating Ford dealers. So far, more than 2 million pounds of food have been collected across 33 countries, supported by 3,000 dealers, 6,000 employee volunteers and 180 community projects.

In the UK, 37 dealers joined the campaign while Ford employees took hands-on action to support other projects across the UK. Throughout October, employees donated food at Dunton, Ford’s UK HQ, by filling a Puma Gen-E with food for Hackney Foodbank. Volunteers also refreshed communal spaces at Upminster Methodist Church and helped Trust Links create a therapeutic garden in Canvey Island - a restorative space for mental health and environmental wellbeing.

"Bringing the full power of Ford means more than financial support," said Lisa Brankin, Chair and MD of Ford of Britain and Ireland. "It’s about combining our giving, our people and our network to make a real, lasting impact. The Building Together platform allows us to do just that.”
