“Charlotte has identified systemic testing issues and implemented effective solutions benefiting multiple teams. Beyond her technical contributions, she passionately promotes STEM, volunteering at schools and inspiring young people to pursue engineering careers.
“Her dedication to learning, problem-solving, and community engagement showcases her potential as a future leader. Charlotte’s blend of technical excellence, creativity, and enthusiasm makes her a true driver of change, shaping Ford’s engineering processes and inspiring the next generation.”
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Charlotte said: “This award is a profound validation of my efforts and to be recognized by Megan Handley, one of my workplace mentors, as well as all my previous supervisors, is incredibly reassuring, and strengthens my excitement for what the future holds for me at Ford Motor Company.”
“Having joined the apprenticeship at 18 straight from school, adapting to the professional world was a significant step. However, thanks to Megan's invaluable mentorship and the guidance from all my people leaders, I have felt completely supported, empowering me to excel across all areas of my development. It really shows that my supervisors have that trust in me to get things done independently, but also make mistakes, as they prove to be invaluable learning opportunities.
“This honour truly affirms that I am on the right path, and I am eager to continue contributing to Ford's innovative future. It helps to show that I am on the right learning and development path removing any doubts about my youth or inexperience in this field, proving to be a great new source of motivation.”
Held in association with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) at the Stellantis UK headquarters in Coventry, Drivers of Change New Talent was all about shining a spotlight on amazing individuals who are having an impact on the industry in the first stages of their career.
In the second edition of these awards, Drivers of Change New Talent, winners were all apprentices or those in the early stages of their career in the automotive industry - with a special focus on those coming from a background that is typically under-represented in the industry.
