COLOGNE, Germany - Ford Germany and American football star Amon-Ra St. Brown, wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, are joining forces for a new collaboration.
As the star of an episode of Ford's social media video format "Be Right Back," Amon-Ra St. Brown drives the new Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid through his German homeland. This journey also highlights the long-standing connection between the Ford brand and the Detroit Lions - the professional football team founded in 1929.
From the Rhineland to the Super Bowl
The American football professional with German roots is one of the most successful wide receivers in the National Football League (NFL). Raised in California, Amon-Ra St. Brown spent many summers of his childhood in Leverkusen and his connection to Germany remains strong to this day.
Despite his NFL career, he maintains a deep bond with German culture and exerts his sporting influence on the youth. In conversation, he makes his ambitions clear: "Failure is never an option for me. I want to win a Super Bowl with my team."
