COLOGNE, Germany – Ford’s Puma Gen-E secured a double victory at the recent ADAC e-Competition in Germany by completing 195 laps of the famous Hockenheimring Grand Prix circuit.
Two Puma Gen-E’s competed in the event, which was held as part of the e4 Testival, crewed by a Ford partner team from Auto Auers GmbH and a team from Ford Germany with drivers Ameni Gabteni, Daniel Wagner, Sven Pleines, and Ingo Behrendt).
Only battery-electric vehicles in category A (up to 49 kWh) in series production are eligible for this 17-hour efficiency challenge, where teams strive to achieve a perfect balance between charging times and driving behaviour.
The winner is the team that completes the most laps on the Hockenheimring Grand Prix circuit within the competition period, and Puma Gen-E once again proved that it can deliver impressive performance over long distances.
A good strategy and the efficient driving ultimately led the two teams to a celebrated double victory in category A, beating rivals including Hyundai Inster and Hyundai Ioniq FL.
Ford’s Go Electric#1 team completed a total of 195 laps at an average speed of approximately 75 km/h on the legendary racetrack, covering 892 kilometres with an average energy consumption of just 15.1 kWh/100km.
