Kelly Clarkson has ridden the rocket of superstardom more than once, first winning the premiere season of American Idol, then achieving pop immortality with the hit track “Since U Been Gone,” and now reigning as one of America’s most popular talk show hosts. With all of that, however, she hasn’t forgotten her roots and the time she spent living out of her Ford Explorer Sport.

In the latest episode of Ford CEO Jim Farley’s DRIVE podcast, Clarkson stops in to talk about the roller coaster of her career and the perspective it’s afforded her, her status as a “Ford girl,” and what it’s like driving heavy-duty Ford trucks through the Starbucks drive-thru in Los Angeles.
