Azereth Dimphana, also known as Azzy, is a true woman on a mission. With a constant mindset to be the best version of herself, Azzy somehow manages to do it all and make it look easy.
Azzy didn’t begin her professional life in automotive, but her career in the industry started when she secured a position with Ford South Africa in 2018 as a global buyer, then moving to Ford Credit working as a government affairs specialist. She recently moved positions and now works as an analyst for FMCSA’s product development team.
If you ask Azzy what is one of the most important things to her, learning is always at the forefront. “My favorite thing is learning absolutely everything I can that will add to my leadership development,” said Azzy.
Outside of work, Azzy finds joy giving back to her community. When she’s not a work, she volunteers as a motivational speaker to inspire youth - discussing various topics including inner beauty, worked as a spiritual leader in children’s ministry, mentors youth members, and is a member with Inforum Michigan – a nonprofit that promotes DE&I and works to amplify the voices and leadership of women of color.
“I believe actions speak louder than words and our actions should inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more,” Azzy said.
When she’s not at work or volunteering for her community, Azzy invests in hobbies that feed her soul. You can find her traveling around the globe or different areas of Africa, camping, hiking, or watching her favorite soccer tournaments. “I am ready for any adventure.” she said. “Whether that may be bungee jumping, canoeing or jumping off a boat in the middle of the ocean.” Her favorite adventure to date was exploring the Greek islands of Crete, Santorini and Mykonos.
When asked what motivates her, her answer was simple, “family”, she said.
“I come from a very close knitted family who believes in spending time together and reaching out to support one another. Where the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind,” she said. “Whenever I feel lost and unrooted, I head straight back home.”
What’s next for Azzy? She has no plans to show down anytime soon. In between her adventures she is focused on finishing her MBA. “I believe my focus on education is what has given me many opportunities in life. I will continue to enhance my education, changing to become the best version of myself.”
