Hands-free highway driving just got better – BlueCruise 1.3 rollout begins

Jul 13, 2023

Our Ford team is constantly working to improve BlueCruise so hands-free highway driving is even better for our customers. Today, the company is sharing that this summer it will start to rollout  BlueCruise 1.3 to Mustang Mach-E vehicles equipped with BlueCruise.

BlueCruise 1.3 brings an even better hands-free highway driving experience to customers by helping drivers stay engaged in hands-free mode longer, including around curves and narrow lanes. This builds on our previous version, BlueCruise 1.2 which includes Lane Change Assist allowing drivers to change lanes by tapping the turn signal and once the path is clear and In-Lane Repositioning which helps keep the vehicle in its lane while subtly shifting position away from vehicles in adjacent lanes.

For more, read this LinkedIn article by Sammy Omari, Ford’s Executive Director of ADAS, explaining how the BlueCruise 1.3 release demonstrates the company's direction with software development and the resulting benefit for customers. Our install base  – the number of BlueCruise-capable vehicles on the road – is growing and we will be shipping updates to more and more vehicles. Omari also explains how we are using data to move quickly and deliver meaningful improvements to customers using what we call the Continuous Learning Loop. You can read the post here
