Oct. 21, 2023 | Statement on Strike Impact on Sharonville Transmission Plant

Oct 19, 2023

Our production system is highly interconnected, which means the UAW's targeted strike strategy has knock-on effects for facilities that are not directly targeted for a work stoppage. In this case, the strike at Kentucky Truck Plant has directly impacted some operations at Sharonville Transmission Plant.

An additional 354 Sharonville Transmission Plant employees were asked not to report to work beginning Oct. 23, bringing Sharonville's layoff total to 660. Those employees will be coded with the appropriate code beginning at their next reported shift and continuing until further notice. This layoff is a consequence of the strike, because Sharonville Transmission Plant must reduce its production of parts that would normally be shipped to Kentucky Truck Plant.
