Our production system is highly interconnected, which means the UAW's targeted strike strategy has knock-on effects for facilities that are not directly targeted for a work stoppage. In this case, the strike at Kentucky Truck Plant has directly impacted some operations at Rawsonville Components Plant.
An additional 10 Rawsonville employees were asked not to report to work beginning Oct. 23, bringing the plant's layoff total to 55. Those employees will be coded with the appropriate code beginning at their next reported shift and continuing until further notice. This layoff is a consequence of the strike, because Rawsonville must reduce its production of parts that would normally be shipped to Kentucky Truck Plant.
