Spanish Paramedics Praise Pioneering E-Transit Ambulance

Oct 31, 2023

VALENCIA, Spain – Ford Pro is now providing a new level of care for patients in Valencia, Spain, using the first E-Transit ambulance in the country.

Valencia-based firm Indusauto took on the job of transforming a regular E-Transit into a high-tech ambulance, installing advanced medical equipment where other customers might carry pipes or planks.

The E-Transit ambulance delivers smoother, quieter journeys, thanks to its electric motor and advanced suspension – beneficial for transporting especially vulnerable patients, including new-born babies.

In accident situations, every second counts and already paramedics have praised the responsive electric motor that is more powerful than any diesel Transit and offers faster acceleration.

“When it comes to reaching patients, the E‑Transit helps us with improved handling and faster acceleration,” said Mario Pérez, paramedic, Transvia MED.

Transvia MED is Valencia’s largest ambulance company with 270 vehicles and 700 employees. The company operates 365 days a year, and its operations center receives between 1,500 and 2,000 calls a day.

“From Ford Pro, we are proud to collaborate with emergency services and to be able to offer connected vehicles that ensure they are ready to help whenever necessary," said Cannis during the meeting.

Tomás Simón Aparicio, manager of Transvia MED, said: “In Transvia MED, the largest ambulance company in Valencia, we dedicate all our efforts to the care of people; and as such, we believe in the need to bet on zero emissions vehicles. The new E-Transit ambulance gives solution to all our requirements and helps us to offer the best service in a more sustainable way.”
