Webex App Added to New Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience

The WebEx app is an essential tool for many Ford and Lincoln team members and staying productive on-the-go is getting easier with an all-new customer-built Webex by Cisco app now available through the all-new Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience. Introduced earlier this year, the new infotainment system delivers a driver-first experience that can be personalized and customized to fit unique customer needs and ultimately make the driving experience more enjoyable. 

While driving, users can join audio-only Webex meetings and calls effortlessly from the in-vehicle touchscreen. While parked, they can have a more immersive experience with the ability to view other remote participants’ video or shared content and even use the center touchscreen display to send reactions. The addition of the all-new, custom-built Webex by Cisco app is made possible by Ford’s Digital Product, Software and Integrated Services team, which worked to bring this experience to the vehicle.

“Now, the cabin in Ford and Lincoln vehicles can be transformed into a true alternative workspace with the Webex app, plus the ability to access 5G wireless technology capability and the option to activate a Wi-Fi hot spot to connect multiple devices,” he said.

A big step forward

The Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience represents a step forward in Ford’s approach to design and development of in-vehicle infotainment systems. Customers will experience new apps and services faster than before because apps and system-level updates are now independent of each other. System-level updates are pushed through vehicle software updates like what happens today, while other applications can come through Google Play. This enables the customer to benefit from new apps coming from third-party developers versus app experiences being tied to vehicle system software updates.

The Webex app is now available to download on Google Play in vehicles equipped with the Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience. The Lincoln Digital Experience is available on the all-new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus available now. It will also be available for customers this summer on the 2025 Lincoln Aviator. The Ford Digital Experience will be available first on the 2025 Ford Explorer, coming soon for customers.
