Each year, the program brings together employees, their families and friends to help brighten the holidays for select area school children by way of toys and school supplies purchased using monetary donations.
This year, LAP is proud to sponsor children who attend Indian Trail Elementary (KY), Price Elementary (KY) and Clarksville Elementary (IN) schools who each have been invited them to join the LAP team for this year’s annual Adopt-A-Child holiday party.
The Plant’s goal is to spend $200 per child for school supplies, toys and other gifts. To reach this ambitious goal, employees are asked to donate any amount they can comfortably afford – no denomination is too little, every dollar counts!
Quality Leaders will serve as collection points in their respective areas for employees to make donations. The deadline to make a donation is November 25, 2019.
Event coordinators are also seeking volunteer shoppers to help purchase the gifts and supplies. Anyone interested in working as a shopper should contact Ralph Napier at (812)987-7611 (office - 3674), or Margie Rios (651)324-5823 to sign up.
The Adopt-A-Child holiday party will take place at 5:00 pm on December 13 in the UAW union hall located at 3000 Fern Valley Rd. Entertainment will be provided by Ron Clayton (DJ) who will be providing music, “Mr. Magic” will perform his popular magic show, and food will be provided by Bearno's Pizza.
