UAW Local 1219 and the Ford Lima Engine Plant will host Heroin Epidemic Awareness Meetings on Thursday, September 14, 2017 in the Training Center’s Auditorium. The meetings are open to all during the following times:
7:30 a.m.—9:00 a.m.
1:00 p.m.—2:30 p.m.
3:45 p.m.—5:15 p.m.
6:30 p.m.—8:00 p.m.
Subject Matter Experts from Glenbeigh Hospital and Ridgeview Hospital will be in attendance. These representatives will provide informational materials and speak about treatment and support services that are available.
Naloxone (also known as NARCAN) is a medication that can reverse an overdose caused by an opioid drug (heroin or prescription medications). It will be available to those who attend, provided they complete the workshop (to be held during the meeting) on administering NARCAN Nasal Spray.
