The Trim Chassis & Final (TCF) and Local Ergonomic Committee (LEC) teams from Auto Alliance in Thailand received a President’s Health & Safety award for their work to solve an ergonomic issue in the instrument panel (IP) station. The team became aware of the problem after a new conveyor line was installed, when an employee said it was difficult to push and pull the handling aid that helps lift the IP out from the conveyor.
All teams, including the safety team, LEC, TCF, maintenance and Vehicle Operations Manufacturing Engineering (VOME) brainstormed to find the potential root cause and the solution. In the end, they choose to install a conveyor guide and other equipment made by the in-house maintenance team. This fix corrected the issue at hand and will prevent issues in the future.
Khun Arkom, TCF manager, AAT, said his team was excited and proud to be recognized for their willingness to solve safety issues and that they will always strive to develop and improve safety in the AAT plant.
Congratulations to Khun Arkom and the AAT team!
