Ford of México Committed to Help During COVID-19

MEXICO - Since the Quarantine began, Ford of Mexico has been dedicated to making a difference for each Mexican family affected by COVID-19. In this effort we gave hope and protection to those in need.

All of the actions taken by the company were under the initiative “Proyecto Mexico,” by Ford of Mexico. This reinforces the compromise that the company has maintained for 95 years with the Mexican society to deliver humanitarian aid for communities affected by COVID-19.

In order to achieve the objective of satisfying the needs of every affected family, the goal was to collect 460 grocery boxes in the first period as the first objective. The 16 items in the list were selected based on a nutritional balance for families within 5 to 8 members, which were received at two different locations: Ford´s corporate facilities in Santa Fe and the Cuautitlán Izcalli plant from April 27 to May 15.

Also, the COVID-19 Donation Match program is a combined effort between Ford Fund and Ford Motor Company´s Chief Executive Bill Ford to match $500,000 in donations to a designated community organizations fighting COVID-19, raising potential of $1 million dollars.

The Ford Fund is also launching a new virtual volunteer project called “Read and Record” to create an online library where Ford employees will be able to read children’s books for the 1.3 billion children and youth affected by the closing of schools around the world.
