The 2018 Lincoln Navigator has been winning over both critics and customers alike ever since it began arriving in dealer showrooms. This week, the vehicle tops off a growing list of third-party honors by winning a spot on the 2018 Wards 10 Best User Experiences list, a competition that focuses on things like human-machine interaction, advanced driver-assist technology and overall user friendliness.
According to Wards, Navigator “reflects a new height of American opulence, but behind exquisite form is a carload of function, from forward and reverse sensing systems, to an impressive 10-inch center touchscreen packed with utility, to a head-up display with the brightest and biggest windshield-projected informational display in its class.”
Wards judges were particularly impressed by Navigator’s “spot-on” adaptive cruise control, “realistic” 3-D mapping and “quick and easy” Bluetooth pairing. They also praised the vehicle’s rear-seat entertainment system that allows passengers to stream content, SYNC® 3 with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, six USB ports, four 12-volt power outlets and a 110-volt plug.
The Wards recognition is the latest in a string of honors for Lincoln’s full-size SUV. Earlier this year, customers ranked Navigator as the most appealing vehicle in the entire industry, marking the first time an American vehicle has ever dominated the J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study. Navigator scored another first in January, winning the title of North American Truck of the Year at the 2018 North American International Auto Show, marking the first time a Lincoln vehicle captured the prestigious honor.
Navigator earned five stars, the highest possible government crash rating, from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program. It also won a spot on the 2018 Wards 10 Best Interiors list, with one of the judges referring to the vehicle as “a country club on wheels.”
Navigator also continues to be an overwhelming success on the sales front. September marks the thirteenth consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains. Year to date, Navigator sales are up 81.9 percent. California continues to be one of the biggest growth markets, with retail sales up 193 percent in September.
