In Nanjing REC, the PTME team also immediately started to search for equipment suppliers. They flew to Guangzhou for an on-site equipment check and worked long hours every day for the entire week to complete equipment commissioning.
They also translated the equipment HMI interface, programming and user manual to for the UK Manufacturing Team and continued to support them in equipment reliability improvement and issue solving.
The Purchasing, MP&L and Finance team in China also worked tirelessly to deliver non-woven fabrics, ear strap and nose piece, the raw materials that are desperately needed to produce the masks in Europe and the US. They spared no effort in contacting suppliers, processing urgent orders and arranging the shipment as requested to meet the targeted lead time. These masks produced in the UK and the US will be provided to Ford staff who are returning to workplace shortly. In this fight against COVID-19, Ford is truly united globally as one.
In addition to masks, Ford is also expanding production and availability of personal protective equipment, including ventilators, protective gowns, collection kits, and more to help keep the medical personnel and communities safe.
